Nanocrowd introduces the concept of nanogenre: three keywords that describe a movie. (I’ve used a system like this for categorizing music and found it to be extremely effective.)
Some examples:
- The Usual Suspects - complicated, caper, twisty
- Batman Begins - crusader, brooding, dark
- Harry Potter - magic, kids, wizard
- Finding Nemo - cute, enchanted, graphics
By looking for similarities among the keywords, it’s possible to group movies or music together in a method that is more organic and complex than the crude “Drama” / “Comedy” / “Thriller” style of single-categorization normally used.
